IPTV App for Samsung TV
Which player to install, how to set it up, and what to do when a Samsung TV will not cooperate.
Updated September 2026 · checked against the Samsung app store listings
IPTV app for Samsung TV: install IBO Player or SmartOne IPTV from the Samsung app store, then enter the M3U playlist or Xtream Codes login your provider sends you. Samsung smart TVs run Tizen, which only installs apps from Samsung's own store, so Android players such as TiVimate are not an option. The app is the free part — the channels come from your IPTV subscription.
IPTV on Samsung TV in short
- Best IPTV app for Samsung TV: IBO Player or SmartOne IPTV, both in the Samsung app store.
- IPTV Smarters on Samsung TV: available, but only for providers registered with its developer.
- No sideloading: Tizen installs from the Samsung store only, so TiVimate is not an option.
- Older Samsung (Orsay): SmartOne IPTV still supports it.
- Nothing works? Plug in a Fire TV Stick and use an Android player such as Lumi Player Pro.
How IPTV works on a Samsung smart TV
A Samsung TV does not play IPTV on its own. It needs a player app, and the player needs credentials. Those are two separate things from two separate companies: the app developer makes the player, and your IPTV provider supplies the login that fills it with channels.
That distinction matters, because most confusion about IPTV on Samsung comes from mixing them up. An app that "has no channels" is working normally — it is waiting for credentials. An app that asks for payment after a few days is charging for the player, not for the service.
Best IPTV player for Samsung TV
There is no single best IPTV player for Samsung TV — there is the one that runs well on your model. The three below are the Samsung TV IPTV players we see working most often. None of them include channels, and each developer sets its own trial and pricing.
| App | In Samsung store | Credentials | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| IBO Player | Yes | M3U and Xtream | Free trial period, then a one-time activation fee to the developer |
| SmartOne IPTV | Tizen and Orsay | M3U and Xtream | Also covers older Samsung models |
| IPTV Smarters | Yes | Xtream | Works only with providers registered with the developer — see below |
Availability and pricing are set by each app developer and change. Check the Samsung app store on your own TV before relying on any list, including this one.
How to set up an IPTV app on Samsung TV
- Press Home on the remote and open Apps.
- Search for IBO Player or SmartOne IPTV and install it.
- Open the app. It will show a MAC address and a device key — write both down.
- On your phone or computer, go to the app developer's website and enter the MAC address and key. This is where you add your M3U playlist or Xtream Codes login.
- Restart the app on the TV. The channel list loads within a minute; the programme guide can take a little longer.
Step 4 surprises people: on Samsung, many players take the playlist through a website rather than the TV remote. It is quicker than typing a long server address with arrow keys.

Does IPTV Smarters work on Samsung TV?
Sometimes. IPTV Smarters on Samsung TV is listed in the Samsung app store, and it supports Xtream Codes. But the Samsung version is not an open player in the way the Android version is: according to the developer's own listing in the Samsung app store, it works with a provider's panel only once that provider has registered with them.
So the honest answer is to ask before installing. If your provider is not registered, Smarters on Samsung will not accept the login, however correct it is — and IBO Player or SmartOne will take exactly the same credentials instead. If you want the full Smarters experience, it runs without restriction on a Fire TV Stick. More on the app itself on our IPTV Smarters Pro page.
Tizen and Orsay: which Samsung do you have?
Samsung TVs from 2015 onwards run Tizen, and every app on this page targets it. Older Samsung smart TVs run Orsay, and far fewer players still support it — SmartOne IPTV is one that does.
To check, open Settings → Support → About This TV. If the model year is recent and the app store opens normally, you are on Tizen.
When no app works on your Samsung TV
If your model is too old, the app store will not install a player, or the picture stutters however you configure it, stop fighting the TV. A Fire TV Stick or an Android TV box plugged into the HDMI port gives you every major player and costs less than most people spend on the frustration. Setup is on our Firestick guide.
The player we recommend on a stick: Lumi Player Pro
Once the Samsung is running from a stick, the player choice opens up. Our recommendation is Lumi Player Pro — an IPTV player for Android, Android TV and Firestick that takes both an M3U playlist and an Xtream Codes login, loads the programme guide automatically, and comes with a 7-day free trial.
- Works on: Fire TV Stick, Android TV boxes, Android phones and tablets
- Credentials: M3U / M3U8 and Xtream Codes
- Not on: the Samsung app store — install it on the stick, not the TV
Like every player on this page, Lumi Player Pro is only the app: the channels come from your subscription. If you prefer the alternatives, see our guides to TiVimate and IPTV Smarters Pro.
Disclosure: Relay IPTV has a business relationship with Lumi Player Pro.
Getting IPTV credentials for your Samsung TV
The app is the easy part. What fills it with channels is a subscription — an M3U link or an Xtream Codes login. Our IPTV service sends both formats with every plan, so whichever player your Samsung runs will accept one of them. Before you pay, tell us your TV model and we will say which app to use.
See IPTV pricing for every plan, or test it on your own Samsung first with the free trial. If you have more than one TV, the 2-screen plan covers two at the same time.

Ask about my SamsungIPTV on Samsung TV — questions
What is the best IPTV app for Samsung TV?
For most Samsung TVs from recent years, IBO Player or SmartOne IPTV. Both are in the Samsung app store, both accept M3U playlists and Xtream Codes logins, and both show a programme guide. The right one is simply the one that runs smoothly on your model — try the free period before paying anything.
Does IPTV Smarters work on Samsung TV?
The Samsung version of IPTV Smarters exists, but it only works with providers whose panel is registered with the app developer. Ask your provider before installing it. If it is not supported, IBO Player or SmartOne will take the same credentials.
Can I sideload an IPTV app on a Samsung TV?
Not in any practical way. Samsung smart TVs run Tizen, which installs apps from the Samsung app store only. There are no APK files as there are on Android.
Are IPTV apps on Samsung TV free?
Most offer a free period and then charge a one-time activation fee, paid to the app developer rather than to your IPTV provider. Check the developer's own site for the current terms before you activate.
Does IPTV work on older Samsung TVs?
Often, yes. Samsung TVs from 2015 onwards run Tizen. Older models run Orsay, which SmartOne IPTV still supports. If your TV is too old for any current app, a Fire TV Stick in the HDMI port is the simplest fix.
Which credentials do I need for my Samsung TV?
Either an M3U playlist URL or an Xtream Codes login — server URL, username and password. Xtream is the better choice when the app supports it, because it loads the guide and the on-demand library automatically. We send both with every subscription.
Why does IPTV buffer on my Samsung TV?
Usually the Wi-Fi rather than the TV. Samsung TVs have an ethernet port — plug it in if you can. Otherwise use 5 GHz Wi-Fi, and check your line with our bandwidth calculator.
Is Lumi Player Pro available on Samsung TV?
No. Lumi Player Pro runs on Android, Android TV and Firestick. On a Samsung, plug a Fire TV Stick into the HDMI port and install it there.
Is there an IPTV service that works on every Samsung TV?
Any IPTV service that supplies M3U and Xtream Codes credentials works on a Samsung that can run one of the players above. Ours sends both — see our IPTV service or test it with the free trial.
Can I use the same subscription on my Samsung TV and my phone?
Yes. The same credentials work on every device. How many can play at the same time depends on your plan — see pricing.
