App compatibility
An IPTV subscription for IPTV Smarters Pro
You already have the app. What you need is a server behind it. We issue standard Xtream Codes credentials that Smarters accepts on the first try.
Can I use IPTV Smarters Pro with any provider? Only with a provider that issues Xtream Codes credentials or an M3U playlist URL — those are the two formats the app understands. IPTV Smarters Pro is a player, not a service: it ships with no channels of its own and does nothing until you log in. Relay IPTV issues both formats, so you open the app, choose "Login with Xtream Codes API", enter the username, password and server URL we email you, and the full channel list and programme guide load inside the app you already know.
Setting it up
- Open IPTV Smarters Pro and accept the terms screen on first launch.
- Choose "Login with Xtream Codes API." Not the M3U option — Xtream is what carries the programme guide and VOD library.
- Enter a name for the profile. Anything you like; it is only a label so you can tell profiles apart.
- Paste the username, password and server URL exactly as we sent them. Watch for a trailing space if you are pasting from an email.
- Tap Add User. The channel list downloads, then the guide follows a moment later.
That is the whole process. If it takes longer than five minutes, something is wrong with the credentials rather than with you — message us and we will look at it.
Settings worth changing straight away
| Setting | Why |
|---|---|
| Player: switch to the hardware decoder | Cuts stutter on Fire TV and older Android boxes by letting the chip do the decoding instead of the CPU. |
| Auto-start on boot | Useful on a dedicated streaming box so the TV comes up in the app. |
| EPG time offset: leave at zero | If the guide is wrong, the source is wrong. Nudging the offset hides the symptom and breaks catch-up. |
| Hide unused categories | Large channel lists get faster to navigate once you hide the groups you never open. |
Xtream Codes or M3U?
Smarters offers both. They are not equivalent.
| Xtream Codes | M3U URL | |
|---|---|---|
| Channel list | Yes | Yes |
| Programme guide | Yes | Usually not |
| VOD library | Yes | Rarely |
| Categories update on their own | Yes | No |
| Account expiry visible | Yes | No |
Use Xtream Codes unless your player has no Xtream option. More detail on the M3U and Xtream page.
Running a trial next to your current provider
Smarters supports multiple profiles, which makes it the easiest way to compare two services honestly. Add our trial credentials as a second profile, keep your current one, and switch between them on the same device, the same screen and the same connection. Any difference you see is the service, not the app.

Is IPTV Smarters Pro free?
The app itself is free. It is a player with no content of its own, so it does nothing until you enter credentials from a subscription service. That is the part you pay for.
Which login option should I choose?
Always "Login with Xtream Codes API" if your provider offers it. It pulls the channel list, programme guide, VOD library and account status from the server. The M3U option gives you channels but usually no usable guide.
Why is my EPG empty in IPTV Smarters Pro?
Three usual causes: you logged in with an M3U URL instead of Xtream Codes, the provider does not supply an EPG at all, or the guide has not finished downloading. Give it a few minutes after first login, then check which login type you used.
Why is my programme guide showing the wrong times?
Because the provider is sending an EPG built for another region. The app displays what it is given. Our guide is delivered in US time zones, which is the fix — there is no setting in Smarters that can correct a bad source.
Can I use one subscription on two devices at once?
Only if your plan includes more than one connection. Logging in on a second device with a single-connection plan will knock the first one off. Extra connections are listed on our pricing page.
Does IPTV Smarters Pro work on Firestick?
Yes, it is one of the most common combinations in the US. See IPTV for Firestick for the install steps.
Smarters says "invalid credentials" — what now?
Check for a trailing space when pasting, confirm the server URL includes http:// or https:// and the port if your provider uses one, and make sure the subscription has not expired. If all three look right, message us and we will check the account.
What is the difference between Smarters, Smarters Pro and Smarters Player Lite?
They are variations of the same player from the same lineage, with slightly different interfaces and store availability. All of them accept Xtream Codes or M3U, so our credentials work in any of them.
Can I switch providers without reinstalling?
Yes. Add the new credentials as a second profile and switch between them in the app. That also makes it easy to run a trial alongside your current service and compare directly.
